Movable Type menus are frustrating

I created a folder, "cogs and sprockets". Movable Type created the folder at "cogs-and-sprokets" but is linking to a non-existent folder at "cogs_and_sprockets".

Additionally, I tried to create a page menu widget that would alternate between 2 background colors. This works for pages, but the __even__ meta variable does not apear to work inside a mt:topLevelFolders block.

Time to hit the Movable Type forums to see if I can find some solutions.
